Your answer is a little confusing. Today is the first time I backed up my phone in itunes, but I'm trying to recover messages that disappeared before I backed it up. If this is my first backup, does that mean I can't recover those messages? And if I'd backed up prior to today, why would I need this tool because the messages would still exist?
The subject of deleted messages can indeed be confusing, Alyson. ;-) The only place to look for deleted messages is in the backup. If you never backed up before they were deleted there would be no place to recover the messages from. ;-) Again, the free trial of Decipher TextMessage will show you if you have any deleted messages that are recoverable. This way you don't need to pay for the paid version unless you run the trial version and see that there are deleted messages that are retrievable. The paid version will simply let you save any recovered data to your computer.

Will it bring up deleted messages if you’ve had different phones but same phone number. Looking for deleted messages from 2 years ago?
It all depends on what deleted data is left over in your backup and if you backed up BEFORE you deleted the data. If you have questions, the best thing is to email us via our support page and we can reply with help from there. ;-) https://deciphertools.com/s...
Will this program also put the deleted text mesages back in the sms inbox?

Please help! I accidently deleted texts from one person that I REALLY need to recover, from July to present. However I did not have a backup through iTunes or cloud.. When I have tried using third party recovery, it's asking me for an encryption password... I don't know what this is because I NEVER set one... Can you please help me with this?? Thank you Shannon **edited for privacy**@ gmail.com
Most of the article talks about entering a blank password (in our software, just press "ok" without typing anything to try a blank password), but at the very end, we make some recommendations about guessing old passwords.
