I don't see my iPhone in Decipher TextMessage!

If you have installed Decipher TextMessage and you do not see your iPhone in the left hand column of the software, don't panic! Here is what to do:

Close Decipher TextMessage.

Make a new backup new backup of your iOS device on your computer. You want to back up your iOS device on your computer and NOT to iCloud. Here are specific instructions on how to back up your device. Note: If you are on a Mac running Big Sur or Catalina, you now backup via the Finder on your computer.
You can make a full backup of your iPhone in iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac), or you can make a backup of just the text messages data within Decipher TextMessage.

After making a new backup of your iOS device on your computer, restart Decipher TextMessage and your device should now appear in the left-hand column of Decipher TextMessage. If you don't see your device or you are unable to back up your iPhone to your computer, contact us via our support page and we'll reply back to you and help get your device to appear in the program!
Other things to double-check if you don't see your device in Decipher TextMessage

Make sure you are running the most recent version of the software. You can simply select "Check for Updates" in the menu of Decipher TextMessage.

If you're being prompted for a backup password in Decipher TextMessage, then your backup is encrypted and Apple requires the password to read any of the data within your iPhone backup. If you don't know the backup password, then this article may be helpful to help you remember or reset it!
